What is a Sleep Test (Polysomnography)?
A Sleep Test is a comprehensive medical evaluation that collects vital data about your body’s functions while you sleep. By monitoring your breathing, heart rate, blood oxygen levels, body movements, and brain activity, doctors can accurately diagnose and evaluate sleep disorders, especially Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA).
Who Should Consider a Sleep Test?
You may be at risk of “sleep apnea” and should consider taking a sleep test if you experience more than three of the following symptoms or risk factors:
💤 Loud or chronic snoring
🥱 Feeling excessively fatigued or sleepy during the day
🛑 Someone has noticed that you stop breathing or gasp while sleeping
🩸 High blood pressure
🎂 Age over 50 years
📏 Neck circumference greater than 41 cm (for females) or 43 cm (for males)
⚖️ Body Mass Index (BMI) greater than 35
Why Choose an In-Hospital Sleep Test?
Our full Polysomnography test is conducted in a comfortable hospital environment. It is designed for those who prefer continuous staff supervision and assistance throughout the night. This ensures the most accurate data collection for diagnosing sleep disorders, widely accepted as the international medical standard.
